ps yes, my trend watch on pentagon/cube/3d tiling & carrera marble is working… ;)

The lovely Souraya from Binti Home came to photograph our house late last summer for Flair magazine … here are some photos she published on her blog today!

PS Google page translate is your friend!  ;-)

A bit too woody/natural for my taste but the top cupboards cutouts are a very interesting idea.

Top of cupboards as an art display space – genius.  This also helps the kitchen feel a little less functional…

Another great way to add colour…did we mention that colour is back, baby?  Yeah, we did!

A nice bright colour in the stairwell is always fun – they’re generally dark and remember, it’s a transitional space so go wild!

Love those Muuto wall hooks…um want!!!!

A sneaky peek from Pia Jane Bijkerk’s new book “Little Treasures” – please take a moment to see if you can support her self publishing efforts in time for Mother’s day:

If you’ve never heard of Pia (really, are you serious?! ;-)) then her blog is a wonderful place to start.

Good luck Pia – we are supporting you!

When you start experimenting with colour, think of places like the kitchen backsplash, which is usually a small area & wouldn’t cost the earth to change when you move onto your next colour love.  Also, hallways & loos are other small areas where you can experiment (or go wild!).

A splash of blue in the kitchen.
