One more advent inspiration photo from A Merry Mishap’s blog – cause, you know, she’s awesome and all. :-) This geometric shapes DIY is by her guest blogger Deborah (@apieceofcake82 on Instagram).
Would LOVE to see yours – please photo reply if you’d like to share!
BTW – there’s a honeycomb paper pompom/ball craze going on on Instagram. I think I may need to splurge on one or two!
I can’t believe it’s Dec 11 already, but better late than never, right? Right?
A little advent calendar inspiration from another favourite, A Merry Mishap…
We love Emily Henderson here at apartmentdiet and just wanted to share one of her video styling series with you. How to style your mantle 101 – go check it out.
BTW – what’s in this picture may not be your style but let me assure you, her tips will work regardless of your taste. :-)
Have you thanked your home lately?
~ & thank you design sponge for this idea. :-)
A t lighthaus by @m2matiz just flew in my door! Love this idea of a wonderful photo to wrap around an old glass jar! Drop in a tea light & voila! :-)

Took me a while before I realised this is a #kitchen. Like. #interiors
So, what’s your holiday colour scheme?? On trend black & white, traditional Christmas green & red, or…? I’ve done purple & silver & naturals like wood etc for years so am feeling like a change…hmm…

When browsing for washi tape gift wrap ideas I came across this. Love it! A simple easy Christmas gift for the wee man in your life – just add cars! To adapt for little princesses you could make it more like a 2D dollshouse with rooms and furniture plus a dolly or two.
*Update in response to “Girls like cars too!” – well yes, of course they can (I used to as a child) but in my years working at a creche & observing my own kids, there is a natural gender divide which appears quite early on in life (around age 1)… generally speaking, boys like crashing trains & cars & girls like “caring” for things be it dolls, stuffed toys etc. My son likes playing with dolls with his big sis but generally cars will win out! :-)
We are fine tuning our apartment diet course right now and this article came up (by Heather at Habitually Chic) – an exposé of sorts of what happens with magazine photo shoots. Take an especially good look at the architect’s photos. I guarantee you will have an ‘a-ha’ moment like we both did (yes, besides styling & great photo angles, they do photoshop/airbrush interiors photos just like they airbrush models!). A GREAT reminder going into the weekend when you might be getting your space ready for entertaining! :-)
BTW – watch this space for an interview with Heather about her new book about one of our favourite subjects – office spaces!
